Soka University of America, Calabasas Campus Dedicated

The first Soka education institution of higher learning founded by Ikeda outside Japan, the Calabasas campus of Soka University of America in Los Angeles, California, USA, offered a foreign language teaching program from which some 8,000 students have graduated. In 1994, the university initiated a graduate education program, which has now been relocated to the SUA Aliso Viejo campus. The Calabasas campus closed in 2006 as part of a Los Angeles County environmental preservation initiative.
