Elise M. Boulding

ELISE M. BOULDING is Professor of Sociology Emerita of Dartmouth College, where she developed the nation’s first peace studies program. She has served on the board of the United Nations University, the International Jury of the UNESCO Prize for Peace, and the Congressional Commission that led to the establishment by Congress of a U.S. Peace Institute. Her written works include Cultures of Peace: The Hidden Side of History (2000), Abolishing War: Cultures and Institutions (with Randall Forsberg, 1998), The Future: Imagines and Processes (with Kenneth Boulding, 1994), and Building a Global Civic Culture: Edution for an Interdependent World (1990).
