Lawrence J. Lau (1944–) was Professor of Economics at Stanford University from 1976 until 2004, when he became sixth Vice Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, serving in that position for seven years. His many publications include The Chinese Economy in the Twenty-first Century: An Econometric Approach.
