Elise M. Boulding (1920–2010) was Professor of Sociology Emerita of Dartmouth College, where she developed the nation’s first peace studies program. She served on the board of the United Nations University, the International Jury of the UNESCO Prize for Peace, and the Congressional Commission that led to the establishment by Congress of a U.S. Peace Institute.
