Herbie Hancock (1940–) is a leading American jazz composer and pianist. As a prolific recording artist who has continually pushed the boundaries of jazz since the start of his career in the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential practitioners of modern jazz piano. He is the recipient of numerous music and art awards, including over 10 Grammys.
