Buddhist Leader Calls for Increased Efforts to Rid World of Poverty and Ban Nuclear Weapons in 70th Year Since WWII

Daisaku Ikeda, SGI president, has issued his 2015 peace proposal, A Shared Pledge for a More Humane Future: To Eliminate Misery from the Earth, welcoming the ambitious scale of the United Nations' proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which call for putting an end to poverty in all its forms everywhere.

Living As Learning--Teachers College Author Event

Greek Edition of The Flower of Chinese Buddhism Published

Kedros Publishers has released a Greek edition of The Flower of Chinese Buddhism, the third and final work by Daisaku Ikeda in the "Soka Gakkai History of Buddhism" series that explores the transformation of Buddhism as it traveled from India to China and then on to the rest of the world.

Russian Edition of The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra Published

A Russian edition of volume one of The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra a multi-volume work in which Daisaku Ikeda and three members of the Soka Gakkai Study Department discuss in depth the Lotus Sutra, its history, insights and capacity to empower individuals and transform contemporary society, has been published.

Rees-Ikeda Dialogue Published in Japanese

A dialogue was recently published between Daisaku Ikeda and Dr. Stuart Rees, current chair of the Sydney Peace Foundation and professor emeritus of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney in Australia.
