Kodama-Ikeda Dialogue Published in Brazil

SAO PAULO, Brazil: Publisher Brasil Seikyo has released the Portuguese edition of Taiyo to daichi: Kaitaku no uta (tentative English translation: The Sun and the Good Earth: An Ode to Pioneering Japanese Immigrants), a dialogue between Yoichi Kodama (1895-1989), who left Japan for Brazil with his family in 1908 and became a tireless advocate of friendly Brazilian-Japanese ties, and Daisaku Ikeda. The work, released in Japan in 1988 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants settling in Brazil, was recently published in Portuguese in celebration of the milestone's centennial anniversary. Kodama was 93 at the time he shared his experiences with Ikeda.
