Mourão-Ikeda Dialogue Published in Japan

TOKYO, Japan: Publisher Daisanbunmeisha has released Tenmongaku to buppo o kataru (tentative translation: A Dialogue on Astronomy and Buddhism), in which Brazilian astronomer Ronaldo Rogério de Freitas Mourão and Daisaku Ikeda examine the enigmas and principles of both the universe and life including the interactivity and interrelationship between the macrocosm and the microcosm.

The work was published in commemoration of the International Year of Astronomy and originally serialized in the monthly commentary magazine, Daisanbunmei, from October 2006 to December 2007.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1935, Dr. Mourão was a senior astronomer at the Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences in Brazil. He currently serves as an official member of the Brazilian Institute of History and Geography and is a board member of the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy.
