Daisaku Ikeda's Essays Serialized in Venezuelan Daily

El Guayanés, a Venezuelan daily, has been carrying a series of essays by Daisaku Ikeda formerly published in Mirror, a Philippine women's magazine. In "Raising Children," the first of the series, Mr. Ikeda emphasizes the importance of believing in children's vast potential and refraining from "forcing them into some preconceived mold [parents] consider desirable" out of their own vanity and pride. In "Recipe for a Happy Marriage," he affirms "the two most important ingredients are a sense of gratitude and a common goal" for achieving harmony. Other installments in the 33-essay series include "The Creative Life," "The Challenge of Youth" and "Coping with Loss."
