"Dialogue with Nature" Photo Exhibition Held in Shaoguan, Guangdong, China

From January 18 to February 15, 2009, "Dialogue with Nature," an exhibition of Daisaku Ikeda's photography, was held at the Shaoguan City Museum in Guangdong Province, China. The event was cosponsored by the Shaoguan Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication, Shaoguan Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Agency, Shaoguan Literary Arts Association, Shaoguan University, Shaoguan City Museum, Shaoguan City Photographers Association and SGI-Hong Kong.

Mr. Ikeda sent a message, read by SGI-Hong Kong General Director Lee Konsau. Shaoguan University Vice President Xu Jian, speaking on behalf of the guests, said Mr. Ikeda has long promoted Sino-Japanese friendship and cultural exchange through his photographic works that have traveled the world. Professor Xu remarked that the photographs were beautiful expressions of Mr. Ikeda's poetic sentiments infused with his ideals of symbiosis and creative coexistence between human society and the natural world.

Some 150 guests attended the opening ceremony, including Shaoguan City Museum Chief Curator Wang Ruofeng, Shaoguan City Photographers Association President Tan Futang and representatives of other cosponsors.
