Human Rights in the Twenty-first Century—Austregésilo de Athayde and Daisaku Ikeda

Dr. Austregésilo de Athayde, renowned Brazilian journalist and champion of human rights, was a key figure in the drafting of the UN Declaration of Human Rights. He encountered Daisaku Ikeda’s writings late in life and found resonance with his own ideals. The two kindred spirits finally met in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 and went on to publish the dialogue Human Rights in the Twenty-first Century together.
