Central Asian Kyrgyz Republic Hosts "Dialogue with Nature" Exhibition

"Dialogue with Nature" exhibition opening in Kyrgyz

On October 5, 2007, "Dialogue with Nature," an exhibition of photographs taken by Daisaku Ikeda, opened at the Aitiyev Museum of Fine Arts in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. The exhibition was co-organized by the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Ministry of Culture and Information and Soka Gakkai International. The official opening was attended by members of the National Assembly and other dignitaries, including Chingiz Aitmatov, the Kyrgyz ambassador to Benelux and writer; Bektemir Murzubraimov, who had asked that the exhibit be brought to the republic during his 2004 visit to Japan as Rector of Osh State University; and Culture and Information Minister Sultan Raev.

The exhibition, which features photographs taken by Mr. Ikeda on his travels through Japan and abroad, has toured in 117 cities in 39 countries and regions; this was its first showing in Kyrgyzstan. Students enrolled in the Japanese language programs at Bishkek Humanities University and Kyrgyz State University helped to install the exhibition.
