Essay Collection Published in Malay

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia: A compilation of 30 essays written by Daisaku Ikeda has been translated into Malay and published by the Federation of National Writers Association of Malaysia (GAPENA). The work was launched as part of the GAPENA Media Dinner held at the Hotel Impiana on December 23, 2008, with the Malaysian Minister of Information Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek in attendance. The Malay edition is based on the two-volume Japanese collection Watashi no sekai koyu roku which features the author's personal glimpses of individuals he has met all over the world, both men and women whose courage and perseverance has led to extraordinary achievements in the struggle to advance peace. In a foreword for the book, GAPENA President Professor Pendeta Haji Ismail Hussein writes: "With his fresh style of writing . . . Ikeda is able to inspire in the readers--the determined spirit of these figures who were fighting for justice and peace in their respective countries and in the international arena. A universal human spirit stands out."
